Curated a traveling exhibit entitled Phillips: Prints and Process an exposition of the color woodblock prints by Canadian artist, Walter Phillips
Galerie am Savignyplatz, Berlin Germany (May, 2000)
Worked as Studio Assistant to Susan Erony and Erika Marquardt on the collaborative World War II dialog project, framing canvases in lead from summer 1998 to 2000. Composed the introductory and project text for the project website, http://ww2dialog.com. Assisted with gallery installation and design.
Koppelman Gallery at Tufts University (May 1 - May 24, 2000)

 

Participated in jurying, curating and installing this group show, Demonstrosity: Deconstructing Monsters in Contemporary Art, during the Spring semester Exhibitions Planning for the Art Museum class.
 
MUSEUM  EXPERIENCE
Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University
Education Coordinator
(August 1999 to May 2000)

 

Designed, promoted, and co-taught the HIP Kids after-school art program with Robin Dash, Brandeis visiting artist/scholar. Coordinated panel discussions, lectures and gallery talks with artists, critics and curators. Developed education outreach materials and programs, trained docent staff, scheduled, arranged and lead tours for temporary, rapidly rotating exhibitions. Lectured to faculty, students and staff of Brandeis University and to the public. Oversaw student activities organization SCRAM, and acted as a liaison between exhibiting artists and the Post Bac program.

SPNEA, The Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities Museum Teacher (April 1999, to November, 1999)

Team-taught three, interactive, multi-disciplinary courses in archaeology, and historical fiction writing to school children grades 3 through 9 at the Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm, and Coffin House.

Museum Interpreter (1999 Summer Season)

 

Lead SPNEA approved tours of historic house museums. Emphasis on social history, agriculture, and architecture.

Recruited and trained college student volunteers to lead tours of temporary museum exhibitions. Coordinated school group visits with educators in Boston public schools.

Lead interactive and engaging tours to school groups and the general public for art exhibitions entitled: The Boston School, Inside the Visible, Bill Viola, New Histories, and Cildo Meireles.
